Painting the World: How to Cure Your Winter Blues (Or at Least Temporarily Ignore Them) with Street Art

New York City

It’s February. And for most of the Northern Hemisphere, that means at least another month of cold weather and dreary days. But not to worry, TreeHouse Arts is here to help. Or at least give you an idea on how to add a pop of color to your current sepia-toned afternoons.

Take a look over the following (admittedly not all-inclusive) list of the best places to find street art* and if you live near any of them, throw on a parka and go brave the great outdoors to get your color fix. And if that’s not possible, stay warm and cozy by your fireplace while sipping a hot toddy and scrolling through the below slideshow of some of our favorite pieces.

*We’re using the term “street art” a bit loosely here: some of the works were commissioned, but they’re still out in the open air for everyone to see and totally awesome, so we’re counting them. Also, we’re including countries in the Southern Hemisphere on this list too because if you’re smart, that’s where you’re currently on holiday. And finally: if you have any recommendations to add to the list, we’d love to hear about them!
